Completed as part of a special project for Arprim’s À l’épreuve fundraiser, Hearth straddles the line between art and handicraft, symbolic of home and togetherness. During this pandemic, I have been fortunate to be able to isolate with my family, giving me a chance to revisit a number of planned art projects I never got to, including this series of woven works from monochromatic monotypes and colour studies on paper. They reference the Pakistani carpets of my parents’ home, objects converted into heirlooms by memory and age.
