Started as a continuous pandemic diary of domestic life, this series of works captures domesticity and routine during this uncertain time, with the everyday providing the impetus for creation. Repetitive elements such as carpets, hardwood floors, windows, house plants, and external paths are integral to this reality of isolation, yet there is also togetherness, community, and belonging. The reality of the pandemic and a year of confinement at home have brought these themes to the forefront of my current work. This series was made possible through the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
