Who are we? Where are we going? What are we doing? All questions to ponder and I have certainly had my thoughts about them while making art. Painting is such a solitary exercise, a psychological one too, and while there are times I find myself caught up in the work itself, there are others where my mind wanders. With abstraction, I committed to the work at hand because it was unfamiliar territory for me. This was just the second attempt. Slowly, I tried to bring in textures and squiggles (fuchsia squiggles on turquoise are my favourite, for no explicable reason. Always have been). The exploration continues.
